Plain-English summary. Use the site and the software lawfully and don't try to break it. The software is provided "as is" — we'll do our best, but you run it on your own infrastructure, so you are responsible for keeping backups and for the data you process with it. Specific product-licence terms (free vs. paid tier, redistribution, etc.) live in each product's LICENSE file.

1. Who we are

Sh-Epic, LLC ("Sh-Epic", "we", "us") publishes sh-epic.com and the software products described on it. By accessing the site or using the products you ("you", "your") agree to these terms.

2. Acceptable use of the website

You agree not to:

Attempt to disrupt or overload the site (e.g. denial-of-service, mass-scraping at a rate that materially affects other users).
Probe for vulnerabilities outside the scope of our security disclosure policy. Coordinated disclosure to support@sh-epic.com is welcome.
Use the site to host or transmit malware, phishing content, or unlawful material.
Misrepresent affiliation with Sh-Epic.

3. Software licences

The software products published by Sh-Epic (Sentinel Radar, Sentinel Vault) are licensed under the terms in each product's LICENSE file. Where a product is offered in multiple tiers (e.g. a free tier with a device limit and a paid tier without), the licence text controls the specific conditions of each tier. If the licence file and this page conflict, the licence file controls.

4. Telemetry

Sentinel Radar can send anonymous usage heartbeats to Sh-Epic. The payload is documented in the product's SECURITY.md and described in our Privacy Policy. By running the software with telemetry enabled, you agree to its collection; you can disable it at any time by setting TELEMETRY_ENABLED=false in your install.

5. No warranty

THE SITE AND THE SOFTWARE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SH-EPIC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE OR SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM VULNERABILITIES.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SH-EPIC, ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR SOFTWARE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR USD $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Sh-Epic harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the site if you violate these terms. The software licences continue per their own terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts of Texas, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the Effective date at the top of this page; continued use of the site after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
